Bicycle

The bicycle and pedestrian entrance is located on 2nd St., to the left of CubeSmart Self Storage. Please dismount your bicycle before proceeding along 2nd St., as there may be car traffic. Bicycle parking is available in our garage, adjacent to the lobby doors. The main entrance to the lobby will be located to your right.

CitiBike

There is a nearby Citi Bike station located on the corner of 3rd St. & 3rd Ave. The entrance to the venue is located on 2nd St., to the left of CubeSmart Self Storage.

Public Transit

F or G Train to Carroll St., then walk 0.6 miles (12 minutes) toward 3rd St. & 3rd Ave.
R Train to Union St., then walk west on President St. and make a right on 3rd Ave.

Passenger Drop-off

Proceed down 1st St. and make the first left turn onto Powerhouse Way. The entrance to the lobby is along Powerhouse Way, through four glass doors, past the parking garage.
There is no vehicle parking available on site.

Do I need a ticket to attend?

Yes, every person attending regardless of age requires a ticket.

How do I purchase tickets?

Tickets are available online until one hour prior to performance. If available, limited same-day tickets may be purchased at our box office. The standby line for sold out performances will form starting one hour prior to performance.

Will I receive a physical ticket?

No. All tickets are delivered through the TodayTix app. Please have your e-ticket ready on your phone for entry.

What if I need to exchange or refund my ticket?

Please understand that all ticket sales are final and purchased tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged. In the unlikely event that a performance is cancelled, tickets will automatically be refunded to your original form of payment.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your event to settle in and explore the space. Powerhouse Arts lobby will open 60 minutes prior to showtime. Doors to the Grand Hall typically open 30 minutes before showtime.

Can I re-enter after leaving?

Re-entry is at the discretion of the venue, based on the specific production requirements. Please check with a venue team member if you need to step out.

How long is each performance?

Running times vary by production. Check individual event listings for details.

How does seating work?

Seating is general admission within each ticket category. Category 1 provides the most optimal views, while higher-numbered categories may have more distant or partially obstructed sightlines. The number of ticket categories available varies by production.

Are restrooms available?

Yes. Accessible restrooms are located throughout the venue. There are all-gender and single sex restrooms.

Will food or drinks be available?

Yes. We offer a selection of food and beverages for purchase.

Can I bring outside food or drink?

Outside food and alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the venue.

Can I take photos or record during performances?

Photography and recording are strictly prohibited during performances out of respect for artists and other audience members. Feel free to capture memories in our lobby and other public areas.

Is smoking allowed?

Powerhouse Arts is a smoke-free venue. No smoking or vaping of any kind is allowed.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Accessible seating and entrances are available for all events. Make sure to request accessible seating when purchasing your ticket. Please speak to a house manager upon arrival who will direct you to the main floor elevator.

Are there steps?

Yes. There is a short flight of steps to access elevators that will take you to the Grand Hall. Alternatively, you can walk directly to the Grand Hall via a long flight of stairs. Once inside the Grand Hall, the seating bank is accessed by steps. If you cannot climb steps, please request accessible seating.

Can I bring a service animal?

Yes. Service animals are welcome.

How do I request access accommodations?

Please notify us at info@powerhousearts.org—ideally at least 48 hours in advance—for any specific needs including early entry, seating support, or companion access.

Are assistive listening devices available?

Yes. Assistive listening devices are available onsite.

Is there a quiet space available?

Yes. A safe and quiet area is located on the mezzanine level inside the retail space. Please speak to a venue team member, who can assist you.

What safety measures are in place?

We’re committed to providing a welcoming and safe environment for everyone. Our safety guidelines are regularly reviewed and updated.

Will there be security screening?

Yes. Please allow extra time for screening before your event begins.

What items aren't allowed inside?

For everyone's safety, we do not permit:

  • Weapons or items that could be used as weapons
  • Outside food, alcohol, or glass containers
  • Illegal substances
  • Drones or remote-controlled devices
  • Professional recording equipment (unless pre-authorized)
  • Any items staff deem disruptive or unsafe
  • Items larger than a daypack (coat check is available in lobby)

What about age recommendations?

Some performances contain mature themes or content. Age recommendations, when applicable, are noted in individual production descriptions.

Is medical support available?

Basic first aid is available during all events. Alert any venue team member if you need assistance.

What should I do in an emergency?

Our venue team members will provide clear instructions. Emergency exits are clearly marked throughout the venue. Please follow all directions calmly and promptly.

What are the security measures?
Powerhouse Arts prioritizes the safety of all our team members and members of our community. To maintain a safe and secure environment, we have adopted a strict No Weapons Policy. This means that we prohibit the possession (whether concealed or otherwise), use, or display of weapons on Powerhouse Arts premises or at any event held at Powerhouse Arts.

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, visitors, guests, and any other individuals while on Powerhouse Arts premises or participating in Powerhouse Arts events, and regardless of whether the individual is licensed to carry a weapon.

We define “weapon” expansively. It includes but is not limited to:

  • Firearms (handguns, rifles, shotguns, etc.);
  • Knives and other edged tools (excluding those necessary for work duties at Powerhouse Arts);
  • Explosives or explosive devices;
  • Blunt instruments (e.g., clubs, batons, etc.);
  • Chemical weapons or materials (e.g., pepper spray, mace, etc.); and
  • Any object that could be used to inflict harm or injury.

Weapons are strictly prohibited on all Powerhouse Arts property, including buildings, parking lots, and outdoor space.

Powerhouse Arts reserves the right to conduct searches or inspections of personal property (including bags, briefcases, backpacks, and vehicles) in accordance with applicable laws. Visitors may be asked to pass through security checkpoints at any time while on Powerhouse Arts premises. Anyone found violating this policy will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include expulsion from the premises.

By entering Powerhouse Arts premises or participating in Powerhouse Arts events, individuals acknowledge their understanding of this policy and agree to abide by its terms.
